Isn't that a convenient tool to put into the hands of people who ALREADY think they are smarter than the professionals who do this? Shame on you, Zillow. Public records are there for a reason. We certainly don't base taxes and other factors on a homeowner's "edited" information. So, why would a website put this ability into their "complex" calculators of value? How about situations where agents add unlivable space to the total square footage of a property? That error goes into your calculation ... A homeowner adds an extra bedroom when it is not ALLOWED to be listed as a bedroom because of septic regs??? Another error allowed ... GREAT JOB, ZILLOW!
