Couldn't have said it better myself! It truly does make perfect sense - provide valuable information and they will be captured - maintain the sales pitch and they will flee! It truly cannot be reiterated enough: Do as THEY think!

Become the expert in your market and your fans will flourish; join in conversations and gain the respect you deserve without even trying. Old school Realtors (or any "ME" driven business owners) have such a hard time grasping this concept - putting their brand and name on the back-burner - but inevitably the numbers (closings) prove that times have indeed changed - and for the better for everyone. Simply grab hold and hang on for the educationally-minded ride!

I could not agree more with the overall message here. The key is to treat your website and overall web presence for what it is; a retail space. It is important to understand that social behavior is something to be sensitive to if you want to generate great results.
The internet is an amazing way to connect with prospective clients and as the internet keeps growing its shoppers will become more and more sensitive to the quality of the interaction. If you make too much noise many will shut you out of their circles...
I also would point to the need for "real time" internet spaces with the idea of a live chat solution to engage web shoppers and help convert more of them into live prospects.

Along those lines, I hate auto responders! I think there was a time and place for the automation generation, but that time is slowly passing.

It’s like Tweetlister that automatically populates your twitter feed with listings details! Not sure if I like that feature!

Thanks to Cyberhomes and the like of this blog, I am learning how to get my social media marketing into 1 hour a day! Then, I am spending the rest of my day with clients.

I have said this all along about Facebook, my dentist is not updating me about the work he did today, my doctor did not announce he helped someone today, but our real estate industry is all about "look at me" and the status updates, listed 3 homes, going on appointments, did my lead gen today. This is why I have a hard time having Realtors as Facebook friends. GET A FAN PAGE, allow me to opt in or out to your success. Keep your profile to a personal level. Not just my feelings but FACEBOOKS feelings on the matter. Businesses are Pages. Get one, there free!
